The centrepiece of the celebration was the cutting of a symbolic anniversary cake decorated in the rich gold, green, and black of Asante colours and adorned with traditional symbols of the Kingdom.

Among the traditional authorities present were Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Offinsohene; Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, Asante Mamponghene; Okofrobuor Dr Nana Yaw Agyei II, Mimhene; Nana Agyakoma Difie II, Asante Mamponghemaa; Nana Adwoa Por Dwamena, Bechemhemaa; and Nana Darkowaa Ampem Kyerewaa II, Yamfohemaa.

Also present were Canadian High Commissioner H.E. Myriam Montrat, French Ambassador H.E. Diarra Dimé-Labille, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene and others.
